Few of us like conflict. Yet it can seem to be a pervasive and enduring fact of life when two or more individuals are engaged in any joint endeavor. And it can seem almost impossible to resolve. One of the primary reasons is that we all have a natural instinct to see just one side of an issue: our own. Although this may be natural, conflict can tear a team apart, so it is crucial that problems be resolved before they take over a group. These straightforward Conflict Management programs help people develop the understanding and self-awareness necessary to resolve interpersonal conflict, in addition to helping people learn how to effectively confront distressing situations in such a way that it actually improves the relationship and builds a stronger foundation for the future.

Conflict Management: A DiSC®-Based Approach

Conflict can tear a team apart, so it is crucial that problems be resolved before they take over a group. This is a straightforward program that helps people develop the understanding and self-awareness necessary to resolve interpersonal conflict. In addition to helping people learn how to work through conflict on an individual basis, the program offers a strong foundation for resolving issues within an entire team. The program builds important skills that are necessary for effective communication and teamwork.

Suggested Audience: Workgroup or department members or workgroup and department leaders who need to resolve interpersonal conflict either within their workgroup or between their workgroup and other departments.

Program Length:  Five 50-minute modules (not including breaks), can be delivered in 5 straight days or over a period of weeks, depending upon client preference.

Managing Conflict and Resistance

People often come across as difficult because they handle conflict differently than we do. In fact, other’s approaches can often seem counterproductive, confusing, or even bizarre. This program is designed to help participants understand the impact their conflict style has on other people, recognize how their employees handle conflict differently than they do, use DiSC to recognize the fears and goals of their employees, and explore ways to improve their communication with each style.

Suggested Audience: Managers who want to learn a simple, direct way for understanding and dealing with the different fears that drive much of the conflict and resistance they see in their employees.

Reducing Conflict

This simple but powerful program helps individuals and groups develop the understanding and empathy to work through tough interpersonal conflicts. It is designed to help participants understand the four DiSC styles and appreciate the diverse values among co-workers, appreciate each other’s unique strengths and accept each other’s limitations, build empathy and compassion for the needs and struggles of their co-workers, understand how others see them and get feedback on their behavior, recognize their unique way of handling conflict and understand the impact of their behavior, and use their new learning to develop strategies for working through conflict.

Suggested Audience: Employees from all levels who want to learn to avoid and resolve conflict with co-workers.
